Mintons Circa 1870's Game Birds Set 18 Serving Platter & Six 8 Square Plates

  

Offered here is a wonderful, antique Mintons game birds pattern large oval serving platter with six matching square plates circa early 1870's! All 7 pieces have hand-painted game birds in their natural settings. Platter depicts a pair of grouse & measures 18" in length & 13-1/2" wide. Carries the Mintons marks under the base. No chips/cracks or repairs & minor use.

The gold trim is also in great condition. The six plates measure 8 square and are decorated with pictures or grouse, ducks, or snipes. The plates are in good overall condition. The plate with the red headed duck and the one with the long-billed snipes have a hairline crack. These are the only damages I have seen noteworthy. All seven pieces have some glaze crazing or crackling consistent with age. Fantastic set to add to any collection or table setting! Please check my other listings for more great items.
