DESCRIPTION: The absolutely beautiful decorative platter was manufactured, designed, and decorated in the Vignaud Frères Studio and imported by Wanamaker. The designer of the decoration was most talented. The overall quality of the design is quite professional. The garlands consist of red & yellow flowers with their green leaves. All of this is very daintily outlined in black. The scrollwork associated with this is a dark blue with a yellow undulating band next to the gold trim on the rim.

There is even a fine black line between the yellow and the gold. We have a very large set of this The Meuse pattern and will have multiple listing.

CONDITION: While this decorative serving platter is classified as used, its condition is superb. There is no age appropriate wear to the gold on the rims.

There are no chips, nicks, cracks, rubbings, scratches, flakes, crazing or hairlines. DIMENSIONS: The serving platter is 19" by 12 7/8" with a height of 2 1/4. HISTORY/MARKS: Brothers, Albert & Gustave, established the pottery in 1911 in Limoges, France operating together until 1938. Gustave died and Albert continued alone. In 1876, John Wanamaker established the first true department store, The Grand Depot, in Philadelphia and perhaps in all of America.

In 1878, he added a china department to his store and in the early 1900's imported china from many quality manufacturers in France, Bohemia, Austria, and Germany such as Jean Pouyat in Limoges. This item is marked with the "W" inside of a green wreath with ribbon under it which indicates Wanamaker operations in Philadelphia, Paris, and New York. Please view all pictures carefully as they are part of the description.

The stand was used as a photo prop and is not part of this listing. See additional international policies below.

This is ready to use or display with pride in your home. We strive to have satisfied customers. Please view each photo carefully. We try to include enough information while noting any imperfections that we see. Request additional photos as needed.

We deal primarily with antique and vintage items. Since these items are of considerable age, normal age appropriate wear can be expected and the items are not "new" or necessarily in "perfect" condition. Listing and template services provided by inkFrog.
