A large and attractive Antique English Victorian Blue and White Transfer Pottery Serving Dish / Platter in the "Royal Cottage" pattern, produced by Thomas Till and Son {1850 - 1861}, at their Sytch Pottery, Burslem, Staffordshire. Decorated with a romanticised view of Royal Lodge, which stood in Windsor Great Park and which, following alterations and additions carried out for the Prince Regent by John Nash, was now a large and elaborate cottage in the contemporary style of the cottage orné, with thatched roofs, verandas, and a conservatory. The reverse of the dish bears the maker's mark T. TILL & SON, together with the pattern name within a pastoral cartouche, these both in underglaze blue.

Some very old surface chips to back. Plate is sturdy and glorious on display.
