Issued new to my family in 1955 upon our arrival in Berlin, Germany during the early Cold War Era, these 2 exquisite vintage Rosenthal porcelain Serving Platters were never used, but as "extras", were put into storage instead. (both in Germany and here in the United States) 2 Original 1950's Rosenthal Sanssouci Oval Serving Platters / Trays: 11¼" x 7¼" - 15¼" x 9½" AMAZINGLY STORED NEW, UNUSED FOR 65+ YEARS, OVER HALF A CENTURY - 6 DECADES! COLD WAR ERA - FROM BEHIND THE IRON CURTAIN BERLIN, GERMANY This lovely Rosenthal Sanssouci Pattern features: All White, Embossed Basket Weave Floral Swirled Rim, with a Beaded Edge. Both have the 1953 - 1956 Rosenthal china mark on the reverse. (dash dot dot dash) BERLIN Q M (BERLIN QUARTERMASTER). In addition to this personal provenance. Information concerning this mark was obtained. They would make a unique, "one-of-a-kind" gift, a wonderful addition to any vintage dishware collection, or simply enjoy the pleasure of using or displaying them yourself.
